Name: Ba[bi]lañ. Large round, rattan basket, open plait. Rim of two halved rattan, over bound with same material. Used to carry corn, camotes, and the like in. | Notes: When used by women is carried on head. Men put one on each end of a pole and carry on shoulder. This type of carrying basket is used in the Tineg group (much influenced by Kalingas and Apayaos) also over the range of mountains a days trip north of Lacub and Buneg. It is not found to any extent among the valley Tinguians. A somewhat similar device is not with in Bontoc. |
