Visits to the Philippines and Indonesia between 1907 and 1910 by Field Museum Curator Fay-Cooper Cole resulted in over 400 photographs. In addition, the Worcester Collection is an important resource for the study of Philippine anthropology and late colonial Philippine history. Through Edward Ayer and the Newberry Library in Chicago, The Field Museum made copies of the Newberry's collection of photographs by Dean C. Worcester. Over 2,000 copy negatives were made of the photographs made by Worcester and by his government photographers.
