Name: Mans rattan carrying basket, carried suspended from the neck or side. Contains two cut shells and two bamboo cases for lime, one rectangular plaited case, one knife, also tobacco and bark. Notes: (The knife is for writing on bamboo. See notes. Install with writing). For carrying nutes, leaves, lime and tobacco. When he desires a chew he wraps half a betel nut in a leaf, then adds little tobacco and over all he spreads a liberal supply of lime. Young and old of both sexes are inveterate users of this nut. |
