1 of 2 earrings; object: earrings (Pakweng) | Material: Hornbill, metal, shell | Description: Curved L-shaped red hornbill slices with brass ornamental attachments on each end from which further ornaments dangle. From the broader ends hang 3 pendants of curved, elongated shell fragments with coils and rings attached to brass band which is scalloped on one edge. At smaller end is same type of ornamentation but shell fragments are serrated disks and keystones with middle pendant of greater length. At each elbow is single serrated shell disk. Early 20th. cen.
