| Personal Statement / Transcription: | Claudia Jamilla Personal Statement Claudia Jamilla’s daughter, Stephanie, wrote, “As Filipino immigrants and as Fil/Ams, we have actively cherished our Filipino heritage. We’ve been involved with the co-curation team since summer 2016 and do our best to attend as many events as possible. We came today because we want to support the project and the team and [we] were very excited when we first heard that the team got the NEH grant. The theme of the project is one that applies to our personal experiences and journey. Participating in this event serves as a way to remember and honor that journey, so we are happy to be here today.”
