They are said to have been secured from the natives of North Borneo, with whom constant trade is kept up. It is certain that upon the arrival of the Spaniards the Moros understood the casting of thesecannon, and the manufacature of powder, but it is uncertain whether they secured their knowledge from the people of Borneo or from the Chinese. |
