Description scan of catalog card [FRONT][MAIN BODY] Chicago Natural History Museum—Ethnology | [Field Museum subject code written in red] 34-60 | Provenience: Philippine Islands: Jolo, Jolo Island, Sulu Arch.; or Mindanao I. | People or Culture: Moro | Object: Sword and scabbard | Material: Wood, reed, ivory,metal. | Description: A- Sword or kris type iron bladewith cutout pattern at guard and a metal reinforcing band at cutout guard. Hilt is wrapped with twisted twine. Pommel inlaid with ivory in 8 facets in alternating triangles and semi-circles, the top in triangles and a 4point star. Below pommel is a band of fluted metal.
