Description scan of catalog card [FRONT][MAIN BODY] Chicago Natural History Museum—Ethnology | [Field Museum subject code written in red] 34-60 | Provenience: Philippine Islands: Jolo, Jolo I., Sulu Arch.; or Mindanao I. | People or Culture: Moro | Object: Sword and scabbard | Material: Metal, wood, ivory, reed, vegetablefiber. | Description: A- Sword with straight blade. Guard has cutout pattern with one side longer than the other with and each having a metal reinforcing band. Hilt wrapped with alternative bands of braided and twisted twine. Pommel is a 7 facet piece of ivory with a flattop. B- Scabbard is of plain darkwood in 2 sections-one the sheath and the other the guard.
