Wrapped Warp Threads

Hemp thread showing method of coloring. When it is desired to keep a part of the thread in its natural color, that portion is tightly wrapped so that the dye cannot penetrate to it. After leaving in the dye the proper time, it is taken out, dried, and the wrapping removed, leaving the portions it covered the original color. BUKIDNON. North Central Mindanao, Philippine Islands.
