Breech Cloths

BREECH CLOTHS. There are several varieties of breech cloths in common use. The simplest, of flayed tree bark, is made by the women of Barlig, Talubin, Agawa, and neighboring villages. Others are made of tree cotton, while many are made from trade materials. A considerable number of cloths are now secured ready-made from the coast. A large proportion of the men in Bontoc and Samoki use the cloths simply as aprons, suspended from the girdles. BONTOC IGOROT. Northern Luzon, Philippine Islands. Robert F. Cummings Expedition. S.C.
