The Field Museum is home to over 10,000 objects from the Philippines. We invite you to browse the objects in the Philippine collection, share your knowledge about their origins, materials, use, or meaning, and engage in conversation with other experts dedicated to understanding the cultural diversity of the Philippines. Your voice can enrich the descriptions of these objects and help them to find new meaning through the personal stories generated by experience, oral histories, and cultural expertise.

To browse for objects:

  1. Enter a keyword into the search box near the top right of the screen. Examples of keywords to use: place names such as Luzon or Palawan, descriptive terms such as bowl or basket, materials such as rattan or bamboo, etc.
  2. To add new information on objects in these collections:
    • If you don't already have a Disqus account, sign up for one in the login area (so we will know who you are, and can give you credit for what you are adding to the database).
    • Then login and get to work!

Examples of types of information to add: family stories about how objects in the collection are used, scholarly observations, etc.
