Crescent shape steel blade is fastened to a round wooden handle. handle is held beetween thumb and first finger. Rice is caught by second and third fingers which press it against the steel; as it cuts the blade passes between the second and third fingers. | Notes: Said to have been made in Balbalasang. * Is called Lakem in the valley towns, also along the Saltan river. |
