Painting owned by Magdalena Arguelles.The painting was made in 2009 in Chicago. Arguelles said her father Jose made it from memory at the age of 78. He was not a trained artist. Arguelles’ father gave her the painting as a gift. The painting depicts an island off of Iloilocalled Nasidman Island, which is part of Ajuy, Iloilo. It is a private homesteaded island. The painting is signed “Arguelles 2009”. Arguelles said the painting is important because it is where she comes from.
